Bristlecone Flannel

Admittedly, I bought this because it was on sale AND I love the pants I already own

When it arrived I put it in and it fit perfectly! This never happens with lost clothing. But Alpine Parrot has done a wonderful job of catering to larger bodies and different shapes. No other company is doing that

The shirt does not gap, has a hidden pocket and is the perfect length. It’s also not too heavy. I totally wore it to the office and was so comfortable. Highly recommend!

This is the only shirt I own with buttons because it just fits. I also like the weight of the flannel. It feels sturdy, but isn't so heavy it would be limited use. It's good as a mid-layer in winter, and for warmer weather, has enough structure it can be worn unbuttoned as a light outer layer on cool evenings or mornings.

It addresses all of the usual fit problems curvy women have. The buttons close without gaping, even across a generous chest. The sleeves are wide enough not to bind under or around the arms (this was a problem even in my "skinny" days because I always had muscular arms). The fit is flattering to my curves. I didn't have to sacrifice chest size for a boxy looking waist. Because it's cut right everywhere else, the shoulders and arm length are just right. Often I need to size up on shirts to fit my chest, which results in oversized, saggy-looking shoulders.

I hope they will make a summer-weight line of shirts in a quick-dry fabric that keeps these proportions.

Well done, Alpine Parrot! I purchased the Bristlecone in a size 3 Forest fit and it's the perfect fit. No button gaping, sleeve length is perfect, and body length hits in just the right spot. Grab a tape measure and trust the measurement charts - this shirt fits dead-on. Since it fits true to size, be sure to size up if you prefer a more relaxed/oversized fit. Fabric is a perfect weight - great as a layer - and the color is saturated. A really great piece to add to your gear, whether you're hiking, camping, or stopping for drinks on the way back from the trailhead.

I ordered this in the pre-order, and once I got it, I've barely taken it off. It's just a perfect layer over a wool t-shirt, especially when it's cold. I like that the sleeves have button straps so you can roll them up. The texture isn't as "fuzzy" as I was expecting it to be from the word "flannel" but it's soft and comfortable. I was kind of right in between the Coastal and Forest fit - I went with the Forest, but I think the Coastal would have been fine, it's roomy in the chest. Very happy overall.

I love that there isn't too much material in the armpits and the shoulders but there is plenty through the bust and stomach! This is truly made for women who may not fit the traditional mold, like me! The material is so soft and is a good outer layer for spring and fall!
