Hi friends!

First, let's take a moment to breathe in and slowly breathe out. Feels good, yes?

Ok, now for some super exciting news: WE HAVE A PROTOTYPE!!

Pro·to·type/ˈprōdəˌtīp/
Noun
A preliminary model of something (like incredible pants!!) from which other forms are developed or copied.

Patterns, shapes, sewing, and more… A lot goes into making a pair of pants, and I have poured extra love and care into these. I am so excited to share this first public pant prototype with you! This is a huge milestone for me - what started as an idea has become one (physical) step closer to reality 🎉 Read on to discover why I love these pants so much, and why I hope you will, too.

What You'll Love About These Pants:

  • Goodbye waist gap - For those of us with smaller waists than hips, the embedded belt allows for some simple tightening to make sure pants stay in place.

  • Carry all your stuff without a bag - I believe that - at a minimum - pockets should fit your hands. But they should also - at a second minimum - fit your stuff! With huge pockets in front and back, there's enough room in front to put your phone  your keys  your wallet  a snack; there's enough room in back to fit your trail maps, and maybe even a water bottle (I’ve tried it with a 12oz plastic bottle, with no trouble at all).

  • Options for keeping your stuff secure or easily accessible - One of the back pockets has an easy access opening, and the other has a flap to keep your stuff from falling out.

  • Easy cell phone access - Sometimes you don't want to put your phone in your front or back pockets, because it restricts movement or sitting down. A convenient thigh pocket means your phone stays within easy reach but out of the way for the things that matter (like getting to the gorgeous view!) Of course, you can choose to put whatever you want in this pocket; it can be keys, snacks - whatever you like!

  • Distinctive design aesthetic - I’ve received a lot of positive reactions to the chevron design, so have decided to really highlight it with some contrast colors.

  • All-day comfort - Y'all, these pants stretch. They dry quickly. AND there's no chub rub on thighs with prolonged wear. Add in the fact that these pants are comfortable in temperatures ranging from 45-80 degrees Fahrenheit, and you'll just wear these before, during, and after your hike. (I’ve even napped in them—it was great!)

Please note, these are still just a prototype! There will be many iterations of this pant to make sure I get it just right, so expect changes in things like color, material, design, and more. I hope you love these, and will love the final product even more.

If you're curious to see the process by which it took me to get to this point, check out my personal blog series, The Year of the Pants.

    Wait, I NEED these!

I love the enthusiasm! But, unfortunately, you’re going to have to wait a litttttttle longer. If you look closely, you'll note that these are, in fact, prototypes - meaning they're not ready for sale yet. There’s still a LOT of work to do before these can grace your closet, but I’m hoping to have them ready to sell before the end of the year.

But I can't wait that long!
