Now that we've explained how size charts are made and why it's okay that size charts are so inconsistent across brands, what can YOU do to find happiness when shopping?

It comes down to a few simple (albeit not always easy) steps:

  1. Learn your measurements. There is incredible power in knowing your numbers, because when your clothes fit, you feel amazing. When you feel amazing, you do incredible things. ✨
  2. Use the Goldilocks approach when trying on clothes: Take a stack of sizes into the dressing room and don't bother looking at the numbers on the tag. Whatever fits the best is YOUR garment - that's all there is to it.
  3. Use the numbers on the garments as a reference for the brand, not yourself. Your self-worth has nothing to do with the number in your clothes; those numbers are meant to be clues for other clothes within the brand that might fit you as well.
  4. Tear the size tag out of the clothes once you know you won't be returning them. It sounds silly, but truly no one who matters cares what that little number says. Your confidence when wearing clothes that fit your body speaks so much louder than any little tag possibly could.

At Alpine Parrot, we want you to live your best life in nature. The mountains don't care what size you are, the trees don't care how fast or how far you go, and the ocean doesn't care how "outdoorsy" someone else might say you are. Mother Nature just wants you to be happy, and so do we. 💖
